Mears colleagues from across the business signed up to be part of the Foundation Ben Nevis challenge which took place in June.
The conditions for the hike were good, in fact a little too good, with temperatures due to soar to 25 degrees, which is unheard of for that part of Scotland.
After travelling to Fort William, it was an early start to begin the hike with the first two miles involving a steep incline, with little shade. Pure grit and determination saw the squad push on through what turned out to be one of the hottest days in Scotland so far, making conditions very tough before reaching the summit.
Once at the top, the team's reward was delivered in the form of stunning clear blue skies, offering views which can only be seen on about 20 days a year.
The volunteers' fundraising has raised more than £30,000 with matched funding by Mears Group.
Heather Tyrer, General Manager, Mears Foundation said:
All 48 volunteers gave their time, blood, sweat and tears to the event - what a fantastic effort from a fantastic squad. A huge thank you to all who got involved; you are all amazing and we look forward to seeing what the hike challenge is for 2024.
